I got a package in the mail today with new knitting needles. In the spirit of Photo 101, I photographed them from 2 different perspectives: my normal shot from above:
And with my camera more on level with the needles:
Great tip!
Wonderings (and wanderings) from a windy isle and what I knit along the way.
Beautiful! So, any particular project in mind for the needles? They’re gorgeous! Nice photos, too!

Nothing against the first shot, but it is amazing how much more interesting the needles look (to a non-knitter) in the second photo.

Thanks! It’s something I’m going to try to keep in mind for future photos.

The needles are beautiful! What are they made of?
I agree that the second shot is more interesting. I’m guilty of shooting my WIPs from straight above, too, but I’m going to go with the excuse that I have limited places to take pics when it’s dark outside. I do try to do better when I get home from work and it’s not dark out. 🙂

I hear you!
They’re made of acrylic. They are my current obsession for needles.
